Summer is finally here so let's celebrate with Aperitivo: One of Remi's favorite family rituals from Italy that inspired her new Nonna Collection!
1. What is Aperitivo?
Aperitivo is an Italian ritual, when friends & family gather to enjoy pre-dinner snacks, aka Italian NOSH! Aperitivo originated in the 19th Century in Ancient Rome, and quickly weaved into daily social life in Italy. Traditionally, an aperitivo includes a bitter & carbonated beverage such as an Aperol Spritz!
2. How to enjoy Aperitivo like they do in Italy
How do you do like the Italians do? Mangia! Enjoying Aperitivo with delicious food and wine is sacred in Italy, so there's no better way to celebrate than with Italian NOSH! One of the most popular Aperitivo treats are crostini: tiny toasts with delicious toppings.
3. Our Go-To Aperitivo Nosh
Right now we can’t get enough of crostini topped with whipped ricotta, snap peas and sun-dried tomatoes. Add a touch of heavy cream to fresh ricotta and whip it with a dash of olive oil and salt. It will turn into the most delicious cheese cloud! Top with your favorite seasonal fruit and vegetables.
There's nothing that screams summer more than heirloom tomatoes that are sweet as candy this time of year. We love building a Nosh Board with colorful tomatoes, basil, and fresh burrata cheese. Buon Appetito!
4. Toast with the Most
Aperitivo Hour is all about gathering with friends and family, telling a joke or two, and unwinding from the day. So pour yourself a glass of bubbly and say “cheers” like an Italian: Saluti!
