Sukkot is one of my favorite holidays; a week where we gather outdoors, celebrate the harvest season, and bring beauty, light, and joy to our tables. This year, I’ve curated a special Nosh Table Edit inspired by our Jewish and Italian roots to help you create a sukkah that feels festive, colorful, and full of warmth.
Whether you’re setting the table for a big crowd or keeping it intimate, these ideas will spark inspiration for how to nosh, decorate, and celebrate under the stars.
1. Etrog Centerpieces
The etrog is the star of Sukkot, and I love highlighting it as both symbolic and stylish. Use whole etrog or lemons to create centerpieces that feel abundant and celebratory. Pair them with ceramic or glass vases for a Mediterranean-meets-Jewish holiday vibe.
2. Festive Glow
Nothing sets the mood like candlelight. Our Venetian Blue Candlesticks add a modern, colorful touch while still feeling timeless. Place them on your sukkah table to bring a warm glow each evening; because Sukkot is as much about atmosphere as it is about food.
3. Seasonal Nosh
At The Nosh Table, everything comes back to food and gathering. Highlight the best of the season with a platter of vibrant vegetables; think rainbow carrots, watermelon radish, cucumbers, and fresh herbs. It’s a nod to the harvest and makes your table feel alive with color and freshness. Below is a recipe for our favorite Sukkot Nosh Board.
Ingredients
Beet Tahini
- ½ cup tahini
- ¼ cup beet juice
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1–2 ice cubes (for creaminess and to help the tahini whip)
- ½ tsp kosher salt, to taste
Seasonal Vegetables to Dip
- 2 Persian cucumbers, sliced into sticks
- 1 small head romaine lettuce, leaves separated
- 3–4 colorful carrots, peeled and sliced into sticks
- 2 watermelon radishes, thinly sliced
- 2 endives, leaves separated
- Fresh fresh dill sprigs, for garnish
- ½ tsp nigella seeds, for sprinkling
Instructions
1. Make the Beet Tahini
- In a food processor or blender, combine tahini, beet juice, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and ice.
- Blend until smooth and creamy, adjusting the thickness with more beet juice or a splash of water if needed. Taste and adjust salt and lemon.
2. Prepare the Vegetables
- Wash and slice cucumbers, carrots, and radishes.
- Separate romaine and endive leaves.
- Arrange all vegetables on a platter with dill sprigs tucked in for freshness.
3. Assemble & Serve
- Spoon beet tahini into a shallow bowl, drizzle with a touch of olive oil, and sprinkle with nigella seeds.
- Place the bowl in the center of the veggie platter.
- Serve immediately and enjoy dipping!
4. Disposable Dinnerware (With Chutzpah)
Sukkot is often celebrated outdoors, which makes cleanup a challenge. That’s where our Nosh Table disposable plates and napkins come in. They’re playful, chic, and bring chutzpah to your table; no dishwasher required. Perfect for big gatherings where you want to focus on the people and food, not the mess.
Sukkot reminds us to embrace the outdoors, celebrate abundance, and gather with gratitude. With a mix of tradition, creativity, and a dash of La Dolce Vita, your sukkah table can truly shine.
